Our Lady of Sorrows, with the seven swords in her heart, is also the subject of a statue on the road to the church. The portrayal of Christ as a man naked but for a toga-like wrap and holding a stalk is quite unusual. St. John is identified by his beardless face, the book, and the tradition of having him and Mary flank images of Christ.
